How Does Chiropractic Work?

Chiropractic Works by restoring your body’s natural ability to be healthy. When under the proper control of your nervous system, all cells, tissues, and organs are designed to resist disease and illness. The chiropractic approach is to locate and remove interference (i.e. misaligned vertebrae) to the nervous system. With improved spinal health and function, comes improved nervous system health and function. The goal of chiropractic is to remove any nerve interference through specific adjustments. View this interactive spine diagram for additional explanation of how the spine affects your body.

Is the Activator Suitable For All Ages?

Yes, the thrust delivered by the instrument is so quick that it accelerates ahead of the body’s own tendency to tighten up and resist the thrust of an adjustment. Because of the accuracy and controlled light force, Activator Method adjustments are suitable and comfortable for all types of patients, ranging from pregnant women, babies and children, to athletes, to senior citizens.

How does the Activator Adjusting Instrument Work?

To address spinal joint dysfunction, we use an instrument called the Activator. This unique hand-held instrument was scientifically designed to give you a very specific, “low-force” adjustment. *

Do I Have A Pinched Nerve?

While commonly associated with the spine, the pinched nerve is actually rare. Researchers suggest that only 10% to 15% of spine related problems are caused by direct pressure of bone on nerve tissue! This can result in numbness, burning, or a “pins and needles” feeling. More frequently, nerves are irritated. This is caused when nerve tissue is rubbed, scraped, stretched by a loss of spinal curve, or irritated by malfunctioning spinal joints.

Is Chiropractic Care Safe?

Chiropractic care is safer than back surgery, muscle relaxers and even common aspirin! Chiropractic has an excellent safety record. It is the result of a conservative approach to health that avoids invasive procedures or addictive drugs. A thorough case history and examination help reveal areas of the spine that may be causing nervous system malfunction. This information will be used to determine the best course of care for each patient. Chiropractic care is a natural approach to better health that is proven safe and effective.
